UFC Copenhagen Results: Hermansson vs. Cannonier!!!
The rest of the UFC middleweight division received a loud and clear message from Jared Cannonier this week. Take a look!
Jared Cannonier destroys Jack Hermansson with second-round TKO
Last Saturday, Cannonier – former heavyweight and light heavyweight turned 185-pound terror – finished his first UFC main event with a glorious win. In details, he completedly demolished Jack Hermansson 27 seconds into the second round. With this victory, Cannonier sent a loud message to the rest of the UFC middleweight division that a new contender has arrived. Now, he has pushed to 3-0 in the middleweight division.
“It’s easy, mind over matter. It’s that simple,” Cannonier shared. Standing before a devoted crowd cheering for Hermansson, he also said: “I make it a point to not let anything that I don’t want to bother me, it’s not going to bother me.” On the other hand, Hermansson received many backlashes after starting the fight with aggressive moves. Many have seen him trying to take down Cannonier ion multiple times during the match.
While he managed to get Cannonier in a body lock, thanks to his highlight-reel suplex, Hermansson wasn’t able to keep the position very long. Cannonier’s capability to power out and scramble free from the grappling struggles was a huge confidence booster for him. He managed to force Hermansson to stay standing with him. Meanwhile, Cannonier kept Hermansson on the defensive due to his intensive strength. With each move, he pushed his opponent even more, which led to the finale in the second ground! “There was a lot of people writing me off, probably because you don’t know me, because I don’t run my mouth,” Cannonier shouted. “I don’t use my mouth to let people know how I fight. You’re going to have to watch me know how I do my thing.”
With three straight wins at 185 pounds division, including this victory over a top-5 ranked opponent, Cannonier immediately becomes a player in the title picture with the middleweight title going up for grabs next weekend at UFC 243. Stay tuned!
