UFC announces UFC 249 show open with Ron Perlman!

Without a doubt, UFC 249 will forever be known as one of the most agitated events in the history of the MMA world. Even since its first announcement, many people have been looking forward to the long-awaiting fight between Khabib vs Tony Ferguson. However, their match once again fell through due to the on-going pandemic. Despite Dana White trying his best to find a different location, they eventually have to cancel the whole April event.

Now, we finally receive the good news: the UFC 249 will be back this month, together with some changes. Firstly, Justin Gaethje will meet Tony Ferguson in the cage for the interim lightweight title fight. On the other hand, we also caught the news on the possible title defense fight between bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo and Dominick Cruz. Additionally, UFC women’s featherweight champ Amanda Nunes will also meet Felicia Spencer.

The clash will serve as her title defense fight. There will also be a matchup between heavyweight Francis Ngannou and Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Lastly, we should note a rematch between Anthony Pettis and Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone is also in the list of upcoming matches. This week, the promotion has shared the first video package of this event. In detail, actor Ron Perlman, who is a regular fixture of pay-per-view show opens, took on the task of narrating the video. Furthermore, it also revealed some exciting matchup clashes, as we mentioned above. Besides, it looks like Nurmagomedov is now waiting for the winner name of the UFC 249 main event.

Save the date

While the location remained a secret, the event should take place on May 9th. Stay tuned for more updates from us!
