Stipe Miocic vs Francis Ngannou 2 is OFFICIAL!
Good news! We finally got the confirmed date for the big heavyweight title fight! Previously, many of us have known the two names fighting this time: Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou. Meanwhile, the event’s date and location have remained a secret up until now. Nevertheless, the matchup caused quite a stir in the UFC fandom, keeping everyone excited. For Miocic, he only defended his title once last year.
He finally finished his long-term rivalry with Cormier by winning the last two of three fights against him. Moreover, Miocic was looking forward to meeting Jon Jones. As he already owned a one-sided win against Ngannou, the champ didn’t show as much interest in this rematch. On the other hand, his rival has been eyeing the title shot for a while but had to stand back and wait for the end of Miocic-Cormier’s trilogy.
Ngannou agreed to fight Jairzinho Rozenstruik, a rising name in the heavyweight division, to keep being active. The Predator finished him under 20 seconds, showing off his crazy power and proving himself as a force to be reckoned with in the heavyweight prospect. Up to now, Ngannou has defeated many big names. The list includes Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Curtis Blaydes, Cain Velasquez, and Junior Dos Santos. As a result, there is no doubt that he deserved that title shot. In their first matchup, the Cameroonian-French fighter underestimated Miocic and lost. So it would be interesting to see how their rematch will turn out.
Save the Date
They would probably fight at the UFC 260 event as the main card. Furthermore, the winner should be granted the title of the “Baddest Man in the Planet.” Additionally, the event’s co-main fight will be another big featherweight title fight between Alexander Volkanovski vs. Brian Ortega. Stay tuned for more updates from us on this matchup!
