Kron Gracie on his loss to Cub Swanson: “I won that fight”!
Kron Gracie scored his first Fight of the Night award on Saturday. However, he believed that he earned more than just a bonus check. Gracie missed a public decision to Cub Swanson. A day after, in the co-main event of UFC Tampa, Gracie posted Instagram to share an image from the bout of him punching Swanson accompanied by the caption: “I won that fight”.
Gracie was the latest prospect from MMA’s most famous fighting family. He joined the battle with a 5-0 pro record on Saturday, he won getting by way of submission. His fight with the considerably more experienced Swanson got place completely on the feet and while Gracie had his moments. It seemed that Swanson was the more effective striker through three rounds.
Under the hood, Kron Gracie was on a five-fight leading streak, with all victories coming by way of obedience. It included rear-naked chokes of veteran Tatsuya Kawajiri, in December 2016, at Rizin World Grand-Prix 2016. Final Round and Alex Caceres debut in the 31-year-old’s Octagon, back in February, at UFC Phoenix.
UFC Fight Night 161 was held in Tampa, Florida, on October 12. In its main event, former female strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk picked up a unanimous decision win over top contender Michelle Waterson after five rounds.
