BREAKING: Jon Jones Officially Vacates Light-Heavyweight Title!

Up until now, Jone Jones has remained the unbeatable champion of the light-heavyweight division. Now, he has decided to vacate the title for the next step. According to the media, the American fighter will be moving up to the heavyweight department. Moreover, he could skip over Francis Ngannou in the queue and gain a shot at fighting Stipe Miocic. Without a doubt, his fans are excited about this announcement, as they have been waiting for a long time.

If he indeed moves up, only time will show whether or not he could handle the intense power of a legitimate heavyweight clash. During these past few months, the Albuquerque-based fighter was caught in a feuded with the promotion regarding his contract. Besides, he is asking for a bigger paycheck if he fights Francis Ngannou. However, the UFC disagreed with his request. Nevertheless, he’s making a big move to the most exciting division of the sport!

On the other hand, many believe that Jones should have taken Dominick Reyes for a rematch. Still, he shows no interest in having in this clash. Before headling to heavyweight, he plans to sit on the sidelines. “Just got off the phone with @Ufc, today I confirm that I’m vacating the light heavyweight championship. It’s officially up for grabs. It’s been an amazing journey, sincere thank you to all my competition, Ufc and most importantly your fans.” – he shared a message through social media.

Heavyweight opponent?

Now, the next big question is who Jones will fight for the heavyweight title? Last weekend, the current champ Stipe Miocic had defeated Daniel Cormier to defend his title. As a result, the UFC GOAT is now on the search for his next rival. Furthermore, there is also Francis Ngannou, who is currently knocking out everybody for his redemption arch. For Jones, it’s clear that who he wants to meet “Avoid Stipe’s right hand, I’m too fast, I’ll be too strong when the time is right and have way too much energy. Soon and very soon, I’ll be considered the baddest man on this planet. Heavyweight world championships, I will be seeing you real soon. Victorious.”
