Dan Hooker calls out Dustin Poirier after UFC 243 win!

Last Saturday night, Hooker scored an inspiring victory over Al Iaquinta in the co-main event at UFC 243. Then he directly called out Poirier for his next battle. Otherwise, Hooker said “Dustin Poirier, I’m going to smash your face in” when he discusses the ex-interim lightweight champ. Then, he emphasizes “Meet me in New Zealand 2020, and I’m going to end you!”.

Not long thereafter, Poirier had a strong reaction. He hopped on Twitter to transfer along with unexpected news to Dan Hooker. “I’m fighting the Irishman next,” Poirier said, relating to previous UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor. “You’re close but not yet buddy keeps punching.” Poirier has asked for a rematch against McGregor.

Since he fell to governing lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 242 in September. They met in 2014 when McGregor stopped Poirier via first-round TKO. Poirier’s plan was bad news to Hooker. Though he laughed when he found out who the ex-interim champion.
