Cory Sandhagen aimed for TITLE SHOT after Knocking Out Edgar.

It looks like Cory Sandhagen’s 2021 is up for a great start. Previously, he has demolished UFC veteran Frankie Edgar in their recent match. Furthermore, the perfect landing move even put him on the contender list of potential knockout of the year title. His flying knee was so clean; it put Edgar to sleep in a split second. The prior was clearly in an advantage thanks to his height coming to the matchup.

However, he proved that his power doesn’t stop there when demonstrating such as move precisely against the former lightweight champion. After that, the night ended relatively early, with the #2 ranked bantamweight getting pretty much no damage. On the other hand, this clash has shown that Sandhagen evolved after losing against Sterling. Despite meeting Moraes and Edgar in the cage, he managed to keep it calm and loose.

While many predict that he would use his wrestling skill, the knockout strike came too soon before we could see any exciting moves. Sandhagen could be looking at a title shot soon with this victory. He claimed that Yan vs. Sterling’s winner would be on his next hit list during the post-fight interview. The #2 ranked bantamweight believed that he deserved the chance and even predicted a knockout against the current champ if they could fight by July. Furthermore, Sandhagen also shared that he doesn’t think Dillashaw deserved a title shot after all the suspension.

Silence

Meanwhile, Frankie Edgar didn’t offer any official statement after the loss. Perhaps a retirement notice is in order at this point of his career. The lightweight champion got nothing left to prove, and he has earned enough respect from his peer and opponent up to now. Let’s stay tune and see what he could do in 2021.
