Alistair Overeem Earned TKO Wins After Crazy Comeback!

Up until now, Alistair Overeem has proved that he’s someone you don’t want to mess with. So far, the Dutch MMA star record sits at 47 wins and 14 losses. He recently went against Walt Harris in a clash where many didn’t want to see him win. However, it would take more than that to beat him. On the other hand, it looks like Overeem wanted one last run for the heavyweight title. Judging by the requirements, this should not be a problem.

To get in the title picture, he would need a string of three winning fights or more against big names. Furthermore, with other ranked fighters like Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones logjam, he has time to reach the contender list. During his match against Brazil’s Augusto Sakai showed that his veteran wiles are enough to pass any prospects. Throughout the clash, Sakai seemed to dominate until he didn’t.

In the second round, he picked up the pace and used his elbows more effectively. While it was relatively close, his output was more than his rival. The Brazilian fighter picked up in round three with more strikes. However, Overeem successfully took him down in the midpoint and finished with some heavy ground-and-pound. Sakai did up kicked Overeem in the face, but he was bleeding at the end.

Championship Rounds

In the fourth round, Sakai was still dominating the match. This time, Overeem’s veteran mindset brought him the upper hand, where he could take the Brazilian down and battered him until the bell. If not for referee Herb Dean, Sakai wouldn’t be able to get away. Finally, Overeem scored another takedown and finish Sakai.
